HBO Max Is Becoming ‘Max’ — Here Are Three Ways to Get Max for Free

It’s been a massive year HBO Max as the streaming service is re-launching as a new platform, merging with the former Discovery+ streamer and rolling out on May 23. It’s now home to some of the biggest releases of the year, from the final season of Succession, to several highly anticipated series, including the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, Harry Potter, and the Matrix series.
Max subscribers can stream all the shows and films from just $9.99 a month, including eight times more films and episodes of 4K content than HBO Max, according to the brand.

Unlike streamers like Hulu and Amazon Prime,Max do esn’t offer a free trial. That means the only way to watch content on the site is to pay the regular monthly subscription cost.
Still, there are a few ways to get a Max deal. Your best bet is to sign up for an annual ad-supported plan, which gets you 16% off Max if you prepay for all 12 months of service ($99 total price), no promo code required.

Max has three tiers of pricing: a cheaper ad-supported plan that discounts the price of a Max subscription to just $9.99 a month, an ad-free plan for $14.99 each month, and an “Ultimate Ad-Free” plan for $19.99 a month.
The annual ad-supported plan saves you 16% off Max if you prepay for all 12 months of service. Your one-time price will be $99 total price and locks you in for a year of streaming.
For the Max plan with ads, the streamer promises you won’t have to watch more than four minutes of commercials per hour of streaming.
